(Congratulations to all who brought home gold, silver, or bronze medals.) Winning an Olympic medal takes focus, commitment, hard work, and dedication. Congratulations to all who brought home gold, silver, or bronze medals. Creating A Culture Of Accountability and becoming a World Class Organization involve the same attributes. Olympians, while individually driven, are also focused on the achievements of their entire team and have fully “bought-in” to competing for their countries. Are your employees fully bought-in to competing for your organization?

The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team dubbed “The Fab Five” were shocked when their star, Jordyn Wieber, failed to qualify for the All-Around, where she was the reigning World Champion. Wieber was understandably distraught about her personal performance. No one knew how she would perform in the team competition two nights later. Winning a gold medal in the Team All-Around was definitely a possibility, however the U.S. team’s hopes still rested upon their leader, Wieber. How would she perform after her devastating disappointment? When the time came, Wieber approached the vault, calm and collected. Amazingly, she executed a vault for the ages, sticking a landing that earned her a very high score. That experience created a belief among her teammates that she was back and on-board. Inspired by Wieber’s rebound the team became resolute and united for the rest of the competition. What was the result? The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team brought home the first gold since 1996.
